Mushroom Matar Recipe | Easy Dinner Recipe | Indian Food | Vegetarian Recipe – Mushroom or toadstool are used in many cuisines around the world. Mushroom is an abundant source of Vitamin B which keeps our nervous system healthy and also good for our blood cells.
Mushrooms are cultivated in United States, Europe, and some Asian countries too. As mushroom neither veggie nor meat, so it is also called as ‘Meat of the vegetable world.’ Green Peas are a good source of fiber.

- 500 ml Water
- 15-20 pieces Button Mushrooms
- 1 tsp Turmeric (Haldi) Powder
- 2-3 tsp Oil (Any, as per preference)
- 1 large Onion (Pyaz)
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste (Adrak-Lahsun Paste)
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder)
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder (Lal Mirch Powder)
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 3 Tomato Puree
- 10-15 pieces Cashew Paste(Kaju Paste)(Grind to fine paste)
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 cup Green Peas (Matar)
- Salt to taste
- Cilantro to garnish
Take a deep base vessel. Pour 500 ml water. Add 10 to 15 chopped mushrooms, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric. Mix well. Boil it for 5 to 7 minutes.
Take a flat bottom pan. Add 2 to 3 teaspoon of cooking oil(any, as per preference). Let oil gets hot.
Add 1 large finely chopped onion. Sauté it for 4 to 5 minutes until onion gets golden brown. Add 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste. Sauté it for 1 minute.
Add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garam masala. Sauté it for 1 minute.
Take 3 large tomatoes and grind it to a fine paste. Add this puree to pan. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Add cashew nut paste. Mix well.
Add 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Mix well until cream get mixed with the paste.
Add boiled mushrooms. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of green peas. Mix well. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Add salt to taste. Mix well.
Add finely chopped cilantro to garnish tasty, delicious Mushroom Matar. You can serve roti, naan, paratha or any rice with Mushroom Matar to make it a complete meal.
