Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 2 cups Lotus Seeds (Makhana)
  • 2.5 cups Milk (Dudh)
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder (Ilyich Powder)
  • 1 tbsp Cashew (Kaju)
  • 1 tbsp Pistachio (Pista)
  • 1/4 cup Sugar (Chini)
Instructions
Let us have a look at the step to step procedure to make Makhane ki Kheer:
  1. Take a skillet pan; add 1 tbsp of clarified butter, let it melt.

  2. Add 2 cups of lotus seeds, roast it for 3 to 4 minutes. Keep it aside.

  3. Add 2.5 cups of milk to a shallow bottom pan, boil the milk for 10 minutes and add one tsp of cardamom powder. Mix well.

  4. Add roasted lotus seeds, mix well and add 1 tbsp of cashew, 1 tbsp of pistachio. Stir well and boil it for 15 minutes on low flame with continuous stirring.  

  5. Add ¼ cup of sugar and mix well.

  6. Delectable Lotus Seeds Pudding or Makhane ki Kheer is ready to serve.

  7. Garnish Lotus Seeds Pudding with some pistachios.
